The Earth's Tears
She sits at the edge of the world,
her knees drawn up to her chest,
as if to hold back what still trembles.
Her eyes are closed,
but a tear escapes,
silent, heavy with all that could not be saved.
Beneath her, the earth weeps too.
It moans silently,
weary of the wounds left upon it,
marked by the traces of mankind.
The sky is dark,
and in this bittersweet darkness,
the moon and the sun watch over us together —
motionless witnesses to a world in sorrow.
Tears gather,
becoming a sea,
a vast and deep sea of shared sorrow.
And yet…
On its surface, gently,
a few water lilies appear.
Fragile, pale, but alive.
They erase nothing,
but they still say it is possible.
For even at the heart of sorrow,
something persists,
something is reborn.
And in this weeping world,
life, despite everything,
refuses to disappear.
