In her eyes, infinity
Her face opens to the light,
filled with a calm, profound joy,
like a secret finally revealed.
In her eyes is reflected the nascent universe —
stars burst forth in silence,
multiplying, calling out to one another, echoing each other
in the still-young immensity.
The sun rises,
golden warmth settling upon this new world,
and already, everything seems alive.
She contemplates.
Not as a mistress,
but as one who has watched over,
breathed life into, sown, and waited.
And in that gaze,
there is the undimmed wonder
of seeing life slip away from her
to exist all the more fully.
For the universe continues without her,
and yet, she is everywhere —
in the light of the stars,
in the warmth of the sun,
in every glimmer that lingers.
