Portrait of a self-taught artist, exploring nature, resilience and commitment.

It is a story of pent-up emotion, of delayed expression, of silence finally broken. A story in which art, discovered by chance, emerges as a necessity. From a very early age, a painting studio awaited a child following a music lesson. A sheet of paper, a brush, a stroke. Then the realisation: painting would be a refuge, an outlet, a way of expressing what cannot be said otherwise. Without formal training, without attending art schools, this artist has built a sincere body of work, outside the expected norms. She paints alone, away from prying eyes, for a long time. And then one day, she feels ready to show her work, to share it. Not out of a desire for recognition, but because she now knows that her paintings can resonate, help and inspire.

The circle as a manifesto

What strikes one first in her works is the form. The round canvas has become her signature. She sees it as a free, fluid shape that evokes natural cycles, the seasons, and the continuous flow of life. In contrast to the rigid confines of the square, the circle opens up a meditative space, a suspended moment, almost sacred.

Her subjects, meanwhile, oscillate between contemplation and engagement. Nature is omnipresent, not as a decorative motif but as an essential presence. Each painting seems to speak of the fragile beauty of the world, and the urgency of preserving it. Her artistic gesture is imbued with sincere gratitude, a need to pay homage to the planet — and to raise the alarm.

A painting of the intimate

But the work is not confined to the external. It is also imbued with raw emotion, with the intimate. Entire series serve as a vessel for buried pain, silent anger and accepted sadness. Nothing spectacular, nothing overdone — but a rare accuracy that touches the heart. The artist refers to a series dedicated to violence against women, drawn from her own experiences and those of her daughter. These canvases, which she rarely shows, nevertheless possess a political, educational, almost therapeutic power. Here, painting is not a pose. It is a gesture of life, an attempt at healing, an act of transmission. Like an emotional form of writing, it allows what words cannot always express to emerge.

Creating without betraying oneself

In an age saturated with images and pretence, the artist takes a stance that runs counter to current trends. No algorithms, no social performance, no ‘personal branding’. Her art is not for sale: it is there to be seen. She resists the temptation to please, to adapt her format or style to market demand. She prefers to remain true to her vision, to her need for authenticity.

So yes, her paintings are not always easy. They challenge, and sometimes unsettle. But they move us — deeply. And that is undoubtedly their greatest strength: the ability to open up a space where the viewer can, in turn, reconnect with their emotions, with their own truth.
