Between light and shadow, the vibrant world of Kali
Based in Montret, in Saône-et-Loire, Nathalie Jarsaillon, known by her artist name Kali, is a French painter who expresses herself through works brimming with emotion. Her intuitive and deeply sensitive approach allows her to express her art as a true language.
Each canvas becomes a space of liberation, and acrylic, her preferred medium, offers her the chance to capture the moment. Her work stands out for its vibrant colours, through which the creative energy of her pieces pays tribute to the beauty of the world.
Instinct as the driving force behind an artistic approach
With no formal training, Kali has chosen to follow her own path, and her creations are rooted in her instinct, sincerity and freedom. This spontaneous approach gives rise to striking canvases that lie somewhere between abstraction and expressionism. The viewer is thus invited to feel before they understand.
Acrylic allows her to work quickly, in perfect harmony with the contrast between light and shadow in her works. This duality is a recurring theme in her work: pain and hope, fear and rebirth, destruction and renewal.
Meaningful works
Several striking creations embody Kali’s world, such as The Four Seasons (2025), a representation of natural cycles, or The Magic of Spring (2021), highlighting the power of renewal. Other works, such as The Tree Will Fall (2022) or Hope (2020), reflect her ecological and humanitarian concerns.
Kali shares her vision across borders, and the end of the year will see her featured in major exhibitions in Marseille, Brussels and Milan. Recognised on the contemporary art scene, the artist has established herself as a bearer of meaning, emotion and light.
