The final breath

She lowers her head.
Her eyes close
as one might turn off a light too painful to look at.

At the edge of her lashes,
a tear holds the world in suspense—
the last reflection of what once lived.

Beneath her, the earth is nothing but a drowned silence.
A vast expanse of still water,
without breath, without movement.

The trees still stand, their dead silhouettes,
black bones of a vanished memory.

The sun has gone out.
And only the moon, cold and distant,
watches over the world’s remains,
a silent witness to a life erased.

She no longer creates.
She remembers.

And in that tear,
lies the weight of lost births,
the absent sound of the seasons,
the end of a breath once given.

For even creators
cannot hold back what is breaking.

So she weeps, in silence,
over a universe that no longer breathes.
